Adobe has announced a new AR authoring tool called Project Aero. The software is a collaboration between Adobe to creating authoring tools for Apple’s ARKit enabled devices, using Pixar’s new USDZ file format. The latter is described as a way to display rendered 3D AR content using a “zero compression, unencrypted zip archive” that they hope will become a standard for AR content. Adobe will be adding support for USDZ across the Creative Cloud suite, with Autodesk and Sketchup promising to add support soon.
