Cross-reality collaboration arrives as Spatial reveals holographic teleportation through augmented reality

Spatial, a team of 3D Design and AR/VR experts based out of New York and San Francisco, today unveiled their cross-reality collaboration platform after two long years in stealth. Using cutting-edge AR technology, Spatial promises a one-of-a-kind remote workspace experience via realistic holographic teleportations.

The company hopes to eventually render conventional video conferencing obsolete by offering a real-time collaborative AR experience that takes remote presence to the next level with lifelike avatars; each created using images taken straight from your computers web cam. Donning an augmented reality headset, such as the Microsoft Hololens or the Magic Leap One, users can dive into a limitless workspace composed of content from your digital devices, anytime, anywhere. 

A voice-driven 3D web browser opens up a world of information for your team, allowing you to easily present your ideas and inspirations to your team members, all without having to remove your headset.

Based on the video provided, users will be able to collaborate in real-time regardless of which high-end AR headset they’re using at the time. Those lacking the necessary hardware for an immersive experience can join a live session from a standard desktop or mobile device for a more conventional conferencing experience.
