Virtual Reality is a technology that not only allows users to view things that normally do not exist in our world, but it also gives them the feeling that they are actually a part of this virtual world.

The benefits of this technology in preserving our cultural heritage will be great, because apart from allowing the visitors of a museum or a monument to see what it looked like in the past when it was firstly created, it also makes them feel like they are transferred in the past, something that will be an amazing experience for every visitor.

Virtual reality company Lithodomos VR has succeeded in creating a virtual reality representation of Ancient Athens. Visitors will be able to view monuments the way they were in Ancient Athens and will have the feeling of living in the past, as they are able to walk and explore the monuments from different viewing angles.

In conclusion, this is a great innovation in the Virtual Reality domain and a great way of preserving our cultural heritage, as it provides visitors with the view of monuments as they were in the past and gives them the opportunity of free exploration.

This could be useful in Thematic Area 4 of the ViMM project because it will give the visitors of the museum or monument that uses this technology a chance for an unforgettable experience of a trip in the past, in order to learn more about the specific museum or monument in a more good, fun and interactive way that will attract even more visitors and help us preserve our cultural heritage in a better way.
