Don’t just imagine your creations – walk around them

Google’s latest virtual reality app lets users build colorful 3D models in VR, and it’s available on the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. It is supposed to be intuitive enough for newcomers to use, but full-featured enough to support making artistically compelling models too.

“With Blocks, you can create models in VR. That means no more mind tricks to create real, volumetric objects on a 2D surface.”

Blocks is simple enough for anyone to use, even those without any modeling experience. It’s designed to feel more like playing with blocks than working with classic 3D modeling software. Starting with a simple set of shapes, a color palette, and an intuitive set of tools, you’re able to naturally and quickly create almost anything you can imagine.

Since the launch of Blocks, people have been enthusiastically creating and sharing their amazing models with the community. It seems like a very good tool for implementation of 3D objects at reasonable cost.

When building an app or showcasing the gallery or cultural heritage, one can share models via links, .obj exports, or animated gifs.
